Ren Sihong's works are infused with his unique stamp of individuality and humor, and reflect the artist's growing-up years and his interpretation of a significant time in Chinese history.

Ren was born into an intellectual family of artists from Hebei Province in 1967. By 1991, he graduated from Hebei Teacher's University with a major in Oil Painting. And in 1993, Ren graduated from Art Teaching program at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China, where most of the influential Chinese artists nowadays studied at. He held his first solo exhibition in 1993 at Central Academy's gallery. After graduation, between 1994 and 1995, Ren was among the pioneers of the new wave of avant-gardism that swept China in the early 1990s, resided at Yuan Ming Yuan art village in Beijing as a professional artist.

Ren has become one of the most influential contemporary artists in China. He is well-known for his personal eccentric and artistic creativity. Ren's works always embody these elements - a playful humor, figurative works with ironic undertones, and yet complex in content.

Ren's artworks have been exhibited and sold at galleries and auction houses worldwide, including Sotheby's New York.
